The First Stamp of Sarawak. The issue of March 1st, 1869

Used
The first item on this page is the difficult-to-find used Scott #1 (remember, I use the Scott catalog for organizing and valuing my stamps)

Mint (unused) - Mint Light Hinged (MLH)
I have several pieces of this issue in various conditions. The six pieces are identical. Some of these are the rare orginal gum variety (you can't tell from the scan ,but they are what they are)

Historic Sarawak Stamps - A Journey Through Time

Here you will find my Sarawak stamp collection in a specialized Sarawak album. This collection covers the period starting from the very first stamp of Sarawak of 1869 to the last Queen Elizabeth II Freedom from Hunger Issue of 1963 - spanning over a period of close to a hundred years.

I will start with complete sets - in both mint and used varieties. The number at the bottom of each stamp is the Scott Catalog number. In cases where there is no Scott number, I have listed Stanley Gibbons number instead. The introductory write up for the sets comes straight out of the book "The Stamps and Postal History of Sarawak" by W.R. Forrester-Wood (published by The Sarawak Specialists Society)
